2012 News
Annual General Meeting
" Hope everyone got what they wanted from Santa, hopefully batting talent was high on the wish list! I have eventually got the minutes of the last AGM, so here are the salient points:-
Held at the Cat & Bagpipes on Nov 24th 2011.
15 Members present.
Chairman thanked the outgoing secretary, Peter M, for 12 years service in the post, and noted the sad loss of a past secretary and player Ron Hutchinson. He also congratulated the under 15's who had carried all before them last season.
The secretary explained his reasons for standing down and noted two unsavoury incidents last season, that the club had been drawn into by their respective opposition, thankfully the club had been exonerated on both occasions by the League Executive Committee. He wished the club well in the future.
The treasurer noted a healthy balance, even though some subs were still outstanding. It was agreed the subs and match fees remain the same.
Club captain Dave Willey, noted the 1st team had been runners up in the league and two cups, but had managed to win the Dorman Cup for the 4th time in 6 years. He thought the two Saturday teams should work closer together, with players being happy to play in either team. He also mentioned the need to socialize more, however briefly, after the game.
Gary Bliss, 2nd team captain noted a lack of players had hampered proceedings in 2011, even having to concede a game, the the first time in recent history. With players moving on, we needed to recruit! Despite this, those who did play, had enjoyed their season.
Chris Ward, for the Evening League side, reported a 5th position, out of 8, in the league and a runners up in the Walsh Cup, narrowly beaten again.
After a very successful season ,the under 15's were moving on, mainly to Middlesbro., and there was not enough players left to form a side for the coming season.
The under 12's had a poor season and would be struggling for numbers also.
All officers were re-elected except for :-
Club Secretary S Hodgson.
1st Team Vice Captain Andy Ramsbottom.
2nd Team Vice Captain D Holmes.
Evening League Captain A Maguire.
Evening League Vice Captain T Breckon.
Additions to the -

Chris Ward to submit proposals for new league cup format.

Will Gaudie - Coast to Coast Ride Update
So far Will has managed to raise over £13,500 by completing the Coast to Coast ride. This is a fantastic effort and double what was originally hoped for but any further donations are still welcome.

New EHCC Shirts
As a way of reducing the cost of our new shirts we are collecting old CD's, DVD's and Video Games and putting them on Music Magpie. We aim to collect 500 discs which would hopefully raise £200-£250, therefore reducing the costs of the shirts by about £8 per person. 500 discs equates to 20 discs from 25 people so hopefully everyone can chip in!
We hope to collect the discs on the 14th of December at our Christmas Raffle at the Cat and Bagpipes. If you are unable to make it to the raffle discs can also be dropped off at my house (96 Thirsk Road) which is in Northallerton or hopefully get them to me through someone else who might be at the raffle.
This is just a start and hopefully if we will be able to get sponsorship to cover the remaining cost. If you are willing to sponsor the club or know anybody who may be please get in contact.
*The link to the website should answer any questions concerning eligible discs or anything else.
